Beginner Metalsmith 101

Service Description

In this exciting 4-week class (extended hours) students are introduced to many of the tools in a metalsmith workshop while learning how to work with metal sheet and wire to create jewelry. Many techniques will be covered including, sawing, piercing, drilling, texturing, forming, stone setting and soldering and finishing metal. Students will practice these techniques while creating a variety of pieces. This is a wonderful introduction that will get your ready for Beginner 102. Most will complete all of the projects or may book open studio time to finish. Kit Fee: $45 (due at the start of class) includes all base metal sheet, silver, copper and brass wire, saw blades, gemstones, solder and all consumables, instructions and use of all tools. *Kit fees may fluctuate with cost of metals. **Please read out cancellation policy.

Cancellation Policy

A 3.2% convenience fee is added to all online transactions. To avoid this fee you can pay by check or cash. Email us at charmtree@verizon.net or call us at 443-249-3338 for more info. CANCELLATION POLICY: • Students are not considered registered for a class/workshop until CJS receives full payment of tuition. Space is limited to 9 bench seats and therefore NO REFUNDS will be given for any workshop, payment or deposit, once a bench seat is booked. We understand that life happens. In the event that you have to cancel your attendance at one of our workshops or classes, we will hold your workshop fee for six months, to be applied to another workshop or class of your choice. If you do not show for a workshop, class or event and do not reach out to us, you will forfeit your payment. • Refunds are only given in the case that CJS must cancel a class/workshop. In the event that a class does not meet the required number of students, CJS reserves the right to cancel the class/workshop up to 3 business days before the class/workshop. Students will be refunded the amount of their tuition, or if you prefer, CJS will hold the tuition as credit for a period of six months from the date of cancellation. Students will be notified of cancellations by phone or email. • Students missing or dropping a class/workshop will not receive a refund, credits or make-up dates unless specified by the instructor. • A fee of $30 will be charged for each returned check.
