He's back by popular demand! Michael Marx takes sculpting metal clay to a whole new level in this fantastic weekend master class. In this two and a half-day technique-heavy class, students will design, create, fire and finish up to 2 pieces of wearable sculpture that capture the amazing world of plants and flowers. In this demo driven class, Michael will unveil a plethora of techniques to create a variety of flowers, leaves, and vines that go beyond traditional 2-D clay work. He will teach his envelope, eye, and other glass capture methods and demo multiple unique texturing arrangements and ways to bring the clay to life with shape and form. Finally, forget the boring bails! Students will create unique captures that enhance their deisigns and bring them to life with added elements and layered texture, learn how to create patina to create unique finishes and build polishing boxes. We will break for lunch. Starting with a basic understanding of the different methods, students can push the design possibilities with additional embellishments and their own creativity. Students should have a strong grasp of texture rolling and methods of construction in metal clay. Skill level: Adventurous Beginner++(should have some experience in metal clay) *Please call the studio with any questions at 443-249-3338. Kit Fee: $35.00 (does not include silver clay) will be collected by the instructor before or at the workshop. Kit Includes: All glass created by Unsane Art, texture papers by Rolling Mill Resources, mini-dome form, blue tack, wooden clothespin and mini wooden clothespin, string and a drinking straw and a polishing box. Additional items may be added as a surprise! Students Must Bring: clay tool kit, extra firm size zero clay shapers, work surface, textures, press molds, etc. and 50+ grams Project Flex or equivalent -- or if you would like to purchase from CJS you must notify the studio via email at charmtree@verizon.net (We have a small number of clay tool kits available to borrow but will need to reserve). **If you would like to purchase your own tools ahead of the class please visit: https://clayrevolution.com/collections/charmtree-studios *The instructor will also bring tools, textures and molds to share. **Instructor will bring PMC clay to purchase for those who need it. Cancellation Policy

A 3.2% convenience fee is added to all online transactions. To avoid this fee you can pay by check or cash. Email us at charmtree@verizon.net or call us at 443-249-3338 for more info. CANCELLATION POLICY: • Students are not considered registered for a class/workshop until CJS receives full payment of tuition. Space is limited to 9 bench seats and therefore NO REFUNDS will be given for any workshop, payment or deposit, once a bench seat is booked. We understand that life happens. In the event that you have to cancel your attendance at one of our workshops or classes, we will hold your workshop fee for six months, to be applied to another workshop or class of your choice. If you do not show for a workshop, class or event and do not reach out to us, you will forfeit your payment. • Refunds are only given in the case that CJS must cancel a class/workshop. In the event that a class does not meet the required number of students, CJS reserves the right to cancel the class/workshop up to 3 business days before the class/workshop. Students will be refunded the amount of their tuition, or if you prefer, CJS will hold the tuition as credit for a period of six months from the date of cancellation. Students will be notified of cancellations by phone or email. • Students missing or dropping a class/workshop will not receive a refund, credits or make-up dates unless specified by the instructor. • A fee of $30 will be charged for each returned check.
