Service Description
Learn to fuse, reticulate and heat-alter your sterling scrap into various appealing metal surfaces using wire and sheet metal. No crucible needed! We will create several samples (based on the amount of scrap you have available) which will then be sawn and/or sheared into geometric shapes and then soldered and assembled into create a gorgeous pendant or a brooch. You will learn an easy pin stem and catch method if you decide to create a brooch. The option to add a stone or frame your piece in an alternate metal like copper or yellow brass is also an option. Helen will demo an assortment of useful flex shaft attachments and hand tools appropriate to the class content for which students can apply to their own work. Skill Level: Intermediate (Must have soldering and torch skills) Kit Fee: None *Students must bring their own materials: sterling sheet and wire scraps (totaling at least 3x3 inches of 20-18 gauge), wire of various gauges 16-12 gauge, and hard silver solder, plus their regularly used hand and flex shaft tools. **Stones are optional, but may be added as desired. This is your chance to recycle all of your “duds and errors” into something new and fun. Optional Kit: $ TBD - An optional pin stem kit containing sterling tubing and wire, plus a length of steel piano wire will be available for purchase from the instructor based on the daily metal spot price.

Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION POLICY: • Students are not considered registered for a class/workshop until CJS receives full payment of tuition. Space is limited to 10 bench seats and therefore NO REFUNDS will be given for any workshop, payment or deposit, once a bench seat is booked. We understand that life happens. In the event that you have to cancel your attendance at one of our workshops or classes, we will hold your workshop fee for six months, to be applied to another workshop or class of your choice. If you do not show for a workshop, class or event and do not reach out to us, you will forfeit your payment. • Refunds are only given in the case that CJS must cancel a class/workshop. In the event that a class does not meet the required number of students, CJS reserves the right to cancel the Convenience Fee: A 2.9% convenience fee is added to all online transactions.
