Service Description

Take your metal clay skills in a new direction with this two-day base metal workshop exploring movement, mixed media, and innovative construction techniques in Project X Bronze Metal Clay. This exciting class combines two contrasting surface treatments to create a piece that is visually dynamic. Students will learn how to design and construct a multi-panel pendant with carefully planned connections that allow the finished piece to move freely. One panel will feature a tab-set stone that students while a second richly textured panel will be finished with UV resin, adding color, depth, and dimension to the bronze. Along the way, students will explore techniques for creating strong, functional connections in metal clay, working with texture, precisely plan for setting a stone post firing, and incorporating cured resin into a fired metal clay design. The workshop will also introduce tools and approaches that can expand the possibilities of working with bronze metal clay. This class is ideal for experienced silver metal clay artists who want to dive into the intracacies of base metals and create create gorgeous designs for a fraction of the cost of silver. Come ready to experiment, solve creative construction challenges, and discover new ways to combine movement, texture, stone, and resin in metal clay jewelry. Prerequisite: Some experience working with metal clay . Kit Fee (Payable to Instructor): $75 and includes 50g of Project X Bronze, all textures and templates needed for the project as well as UV resin, pigments and lights.
