Service Description
In this one-day, technique heavy class, experienced metal clay students will learn how to construct two settings in one piece; tab settings for natural stones post firing and fire-in-place opals in metal clay. Using a two-stage firing method with a kiln, students will make multiple elements in metal clay that will come together to set their stones. The class is designed for the intermediate to advanced metal clay student. This will expand a student's abilities to set stones that can not be fired in place in a fun and beautiful manner. *Depending on skill level some students may need to pick up piece after or shipping arrangements will be made. Kit Fee: $30 (payable to the instructor at class) Kit Includes: Multiple custom textures, custom tab template, ACS paste and use of a copier/scanner needed for the project.Students will need to supply a stone cabochon no larger than 25mm X 35mm and a cultured opal 3-5mm *Students will need to either bring a stone cabachon no bigger than 30mm x 22mm or purchase one from Charmtree Studio. *Additionally Fire-In-Place opals will also be available for purchase.

CANCELLATION POLICY: • Students are not considered registered for a class/workshop until CJS receives full payment of tuition. Space is limited to 10 bench seats and therefore NO REFUNDS will be given for any workshop, payment or deposit, once a bench seat is booked. We understand that life happens. In the event that you have to cancel your attendance at one of our workshops or classes, we will hold your workshop fee for six months, to be applied to another workshop or class of your choice. If you do not show for a workshop, class or event and do not reach out to us, you will forfeit your payment. • Refunds are only given in the case that CJS must cancel a class/workshop. In the event that a class does not meet the required number of students, CJS reserves the right to cancel the Convenience Fee: A 2.9% convenience fee is added to all online transactions.
