Intro to Precious Metal Clay

Want to make silver jewelry but don't want to solder? We got you! This Beginning Precious Metal Clay Jewelry class will introduce you to that exciting world of precious metal clay. We will cover the basics and and get your ready for some more intermediate techniques. You’ll learn about the tools, the different types of metal clays, kiln versus torch firing, how to texture and stamp, mold and shape. You will also learn how to layer the metal clay and create dimensional pieces, stone setting techniques and how to care and store your clay,, and much more! We will also learn to patina and go over polishing and finishing. You will create earrings, charms and a pendant. We will break for 45 min. lunch and kiln-firing each day. Skill Level: Beginner Kit Fee: $75 (due to instructor at start of class) Kit Includes: 25 grams of silver clay, cz stones, polishing materials, consumables and instructions. *Please see our cancellation policy.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY: • Students are not considered registered for a class/workshop until CJS receives full payment of tuition. Space is limited to 10 bench seats and therefore NO REFUNDS will be given for any workshop, payment or deposit, once a bench seat is booked. We understand that life happens. In the event that you have to cancel your attendance at one of our workshops or classes, we will hold your workshop fee for six months, to be applied to another workshop or class of your choice. If you do not show for a workshop, class or event and do not reach out to us, you will forfeit your payment. • Refunds are only given in the case that CJS must cancel a class/workshop. In the event that a class does not meet the required number of students, CJS reserves the right to cancel the Convenience Fee: A 2.9% convenience fee is added to all online transactions.
