Make a Statement: Silver Clay Ring

Service Description

In this jam-packed 2-day (all-day) class, learn to make a unique fine silver statement ring. Local artist Michelle Arsenault will show you the magic of turning an old grey lump of clay into a sparkling statement ring! Saturday students will "build" the ring and learn various stone settings including bezel, coil, cutout, pave. Various styles of texturing will be covered, as well as wet to dry joining, hiding the join and width vs depth for strength, granulation and embellishments. Michelle will demo setting marquis, square, oval and round stones, using tips and tricks for unique designs. Her vast selection of molds and textures will be available to use. If you don't want the bling and would like to make a design statement in all silver she will help you bring your conceptualizaton to life in what she calls"capping" a band style of ring. Sunday will be for fine tuning and decoration, sculpting and filagree, snakes and granulation, firing and patina. Get ready to make an incredible statement ring (or two) and push your silver clay ring designs to the next level. *Please bring 20+ grams of .999 Art Clay Silver. **You may purchase clay at CJS. Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner (some metal clay skills helpful) NOTE: Rings will be fired at the end of the day Friday and can be picked up Saturday 6/15 or the following week. Melissa will help you patina and/or polish. Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY: • Students are not considered registered for a class/workshop until CJS receives full payment of tuition. Space is limited to 10 bench seats and therefore NO REFUNDS will be given for any workshop, payment or deposit, once a bench seat is booked. We understand that life happens. In the event that you have to cancel your attendance at one of our workshops or classes, we will hold your workshop fee for six months, to be applied to another workshop or class of your choice. If you do not show for a workshop, class or event and do not reach out to us, you will forfeit your payment. • Refunds are only given in the case that CJS must cancel a class/workshop. In the event that a class does not meet the required number of students, CJS reserves the right to cancel the Convenience Fee: A 2.9% convenience fee is added to all online transactions.
